To make a routine appointment, please telephone or call at reception during our opening hours. Alternatively use our Patient Access through the internet to make your appointment. Please ask at reception for an Appointment Access Form where you will be able to book your appointments on-line. When signing up to the Appointment Patient Access you will be required to bring photo ID with you. We will try to give routine appointments within 48 hours, but if you wish to see a particular doctor then you may have to wait longer. If you feel you have a lot to discuss with the doctor and need more time, please ask for a double appointment. Appointment times are booked for 13 minutes per patient for all doctors. Please ask at reception for an up-to-date list of the weekly availability of appointments for each doctor.
If a patient wishes to be seen urgently and there are no routine appointments available, assessment will be made on the medical needs of the patient that day. During the morning Mrs Spencer, nurse practitioner, will deal with minor illnesses by arranging an appointment with herself or giving advice via a telephone appointment and through the use of triage where appropriate. .
Additionally, there is always a Duty Doctor who can also provide telephone advice as well as appointments on the day as required therefore illnesses that require the attention of a doctor will be referred by Mrs Spencer to the duty doctor for that day.
Patients contacting the surgery in the afternoon who need medical services that day will be referred to the duty doctor. Please note the duty doctor will contact patients firstly by telephone before arranging an appointment for that day.
When Contacting Reception
When contacting the reception you will need to leave your name and a contact telephone number so that the nurse practitioner or duty doctor can contact you. We would ask you to stay by your telephone and not have your answer phone on.
THIS IS NOT A WALK-IN SERVICE. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT PATIENTS MUST TELEPHONE FIRST AND WAIT A RETURN CALL.
ONLY ONE PATIENT PER APPOINTMENT PLEASE.
Arriving Late for Appointments
If you are running late please contact the surgery, Clinicians may not agree to see Patients arriving who may be asked to rebook. If a Clinician agrees to see a patient arriving late the Patient may be asked to wait until the end of the surgery as it isn't fair to delay patients who arrive on time.
If you no longer need an appointment please let us know so that we can offer it to another patient. Persistent abuse of the appointment system will necessitate removal from the practice list.
